One of the largest processions of the festival, but seemed to be much less crowded than Juit Tui. Quite a wide variety of piercing choices at this one.
Giant scissors, a pair of oars, and an umbrella. I think this was the morning with the most dramatic objects chosen for the facial impalings.
Saw blades, barbed wire, and yarn.
I believe this is by far the largest procession in terms of both number of participating Ma Song and number of people in the crowd. It's a very chaotic morning.
This was the final day of the festival. The rain cooperated all week until this morning, when it was a constant drizzle the entire morning.
Day 2 of the festival, but my first day this year. This was a pretty small procession, so it was over pretty quick.
I thought I was going to get here early, but either the info online was wrong or they jumped the gun, because when I arrived they were almost done. Lesson learned - don't trust the start times posted online. So I ended up just catching the stragglers as they loaded up on to trucks to drive into Phuket Town.
Here are the videos I took of the piercings and processions. To quote my mom, "Shane, these are very disturbing." You've been warned.
