I much prefer seeing the fallas at nighttime instead of during the day. Unfortunately, this year was much cooler than past years, so it made for some shorter than normal night walks.
The top tier of fallas, where the cost is in the hundreds of thousands of euros. Nine fallas had the especial designation this year, plus the falla in la Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
Star Wars (x2), Batman & Harley Quinn, and Game of Thrones all represented this year. Plus quite a few takes Trump/Putin/KJU.
Seccion 1A, the next tier down from the Fallas Especiales. Highlights were a Mexico themed falla, and the best of several Mary Poppins themed fallas that were around that year.
The lower tier fallas at night. It's actually more of a hassle to take night shots of these, since you don't have the luxury of paying admission like you do with the fallas especiales, which lets you isolate yourself from the big crowds.
At midnight on the final night of the festival, everything burns down throughout the city. Got pretty unlucky this year, everything was instantly obscured by black smoke.
The G-rated fallas geared towards the kids. Check out the one dedicated to the 80s. My entire childhood is summed up in one falla.
Street food, graffiti, and falleras parading through the streets.
Pretty tame this year, nothing too raunchy.
