A couple mornings in Sydney, Australia before the start of a South Pacific cruise. I really wanted to see a laughing kookaburra, and ended up finding a few in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney that wanted to pose.

Here are all the wildlife photos from a 10 day roadtrip through the Maritimes - starting in Halifax, Nova Scotia and then moving through New Brunswick before ending in Prince Edward Island.
There are a lot of photos of Asian openbills catching snails here. I was able to watch them up close for maybe a half hour before they took off. They were hanging out in the same section of the park as the amphitheatre. There are also a few photos here from a quick evening trip to Rot Fai that didn't warrant their own page.
Didn't see much this morning. An American goldfinch, a red-bellied woodpecker, and a lot of dragonflies.
Came across a ribbonsnake eating a leopard frog at Huntley Meadows Park. When I first spotted them the ribbonsake just had the frog by the feet. From first photo to last photo in this gallery is about 8 minutes elapsed.
A green heron catching breakfast, American goldfinch, a nesting female cardinal, a pileated woodpecker, and about a 2 second glimpse of a prothonotary warbler.
Lots of Javan pond-herons, lots of asian water monitors, and a scattering of the usual Bangkok denizens.
Today was just a half-day in heavy rain before heading back to the airport. Got my best view yet of a belted kingfisher, saw some painted buntings on the feeders at the visitors center, and plenty of roseate spoonbills.
The highlight of today was a surprise encounter with a bobcat as I was hiking on a trail. Also some manatees, a gopher tortoise I ran into a couple minutes after the bobcat, and a ton of roseate spoonbills.
There were quite a few bright orange iguanas here, since the males turn orange during their breeding season. Plus the usual water birds like herons, anhingas, and grey-headed swamphens.
Lots of water birds here - wood storks, herons, ibis, grey-headed swamphens, and double-breasted cormorants.

Green-eared barbet, orange-breasted trogons, a quick glimpse of a blue-winged pitta (the very first bird that was encountered, and then never seen again), and a banded broadbill. The afternoon was spent at a hide, seeing a wide variety of birds including a red-legged crake, racket-tailed treepies, black-naped monarchs, and a lot more.
An easy walk from Sukhumvit Road, Benchakitti Park includes a large wetlands area with a raised boardwalk. I saw quite a few Asian openbills, scaly-breasted munia, various mynas, and a few water monitors wandering around.

Random bird photos taken during a 2-week trip around Ireland. Rooks, jackdaws, European robins, black-headed gulls, common chaffinch, and more.
Not a lot of photos here - just a quick glimpse of a razorbill colony (and a much smaller gull colony) on the cliffs by the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge near the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland.

Lots and lots of tree swallows, plus a brown-headed cowbird, hooded merganser, cinnamon teal, American coot, and more.
